BDT Stage’s special added performance of “Fiddler on the Roof” raised a total of $5,173.29 for the Denver Actors Fund, making it one of the two most successful evenings in the growing non-profit’s short history.
Of that total, $1,660 comes directly from performers and musicians donating their show pay. Another $602.52 comes from added donations collected at the door as the crowd exited. The rest comes directly from BDT Stage (formerly Boulder’s Dinner Theatre), headed by Michael J. Duran.
The Denver Actors Fund is a modest source of immediate relief when members of the local theater community find themselves in sanal medical need. In addition to financial relief, a team of more than 60 Denver Actors Fund volunteers offers good neighborly assistance including meal prep and delivery, child care, transportation, errands, construction, pet-sitting and more. Denver actor (and DAF volunteer) Rhonda Brown is offering theatregoers the opportunity to play the walk-on role of Molly Ivins’ assistant in her current staging of “Red Hot Patriot.” For everyone who volunteers, Rhonda and Director Richard Pegg will donate $50 to The Denver Actors Fund in your name. Won’t cost you a thing. No rehearsal – just show up early on your assigned night and get some very simple direction. (You walk on and hand Molly a piece of paper four times. You have no speaking lines to memorize).
